The Town of Pearisburg Department of Parks and Recreation is dedicated to providing high quality, wholesome recreation opportunities, programs, and facilities to meet the diverse needs of all citizens.
The department operates a seasonal outdoor pool, town park, two ball fields, a community center, and the 28 acre Whitt Riverbend Park.
The department is headed by a full-time director and staffed by seasonal employees.
The Recreation Department office is located in the Pearisburg Community Center. The facility rents the Cafeteria, Auditorium, Gymnasium and Room No. 2. You can find rental information under Community Center Rental.
The Picnic Shelter located behind the Community Center in the Town Park is available for rental. The shelter is located in the Town Park which has various playground equipment for the children and a paved walking trail. More information is available under Community Center Rental.
If the Town Picnic Shelter is not available there is also another shelter located at Whitt-Riverbend Park. This park is located in Ripplemead and offers a paved walking trail, primitive camp sites, a picnic shelter for rental and access to the New River and Walkers Creek for fishing and boating. The Pearisburg Town Pool will be open from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend. To make a reservation for a pool party you would call 921-ADIP or 921- 2347. You may also contact the pool for information on swim lessons.
